Official robots will appear in Dubai

Dubai authorities are hiring robots with artificial intelligence in the civil service.

Dubai, UAE. Dubai authorities are going to hire artificial intelligence robots for the civil service. The corresponding project was announced by the Smart Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence (AI), which is beginning to train government officials and the private sector in the implementation of AI and "cognitive computing" in work processes.

The goal of the process is to make life easier for UAE citizens and all Dubai residents who apply for government services. The first 200 people will be trained in April, later they will be available to researchers, students and the general public. “In order to move into the future, we need to revise the principles of government work and introduce artificial intelligence in the process of providing public services. We have no choice but to apply new technologies,” said Aisha bin Bishr, director of Smart Dubai Office.

She also noted that the government plans to replace call centers and help parents choose schools for children using cognitive computing. In addition, the government wants to see how artificial intelligence will be integrated into public services and urban infrastructure. “Unlike people, machines can process hundreds of documents at the same time, maintain a sequence of actions and avoid mistakes,” said Libra Luta, head of SDG's technology department at Smart Dubai Office.

Studies have shown that artificial intelligence can occupy 50% of all jobs by 2025. Smart robots will not communicate with people at the level of human emotions, but they will do quality work and help people achieve specific goals. At the same time, machines are constantly building artificial intelligence to get closer to people.
