Porsche Team Dubai at the Trans-Siberian Rally 2007

THE TRANS-SIBERIAN RALLY STARTED IN MOSCOW on AUGUST 2, 2007, AND THE 17TH ITS WAY FINISHED IN ULAN BATOR, THE CAPITAL OF MONGOLIA. PARTICIPANTS OF THE COMPETITIONS WENT MORE THAN SIX THOUSAND KILOMETERS. TOTAL FOR VICTORY 26 TEAMS FIGHTED

The rally was also attended by the UAE crew - Porsche Team Dubai, which included pilot Karim Al Azari and co-pilot Blair Kohl, members of the Al Naboodah Racing Team. Karim Al Azari, who has the 2006 and 2007 Gulf Radical Cup Championship titles, and Blair Kohl, captain of the Al Naboodah Racing Team, performed on a new modification of the Porsche Cayenne S. The Porsche Cayenne SUV received a special version prepared for the Trans-Siberian rally. The Transsyberia modification based on the Cayenne S model year 2008 compared with the standard version received enhanced suspension, a safety cage, Tiptronic S gearbox with “shortened” gears, a winch on the front bumper, as well as special 18-inch alloy wheels with off-road tires of dimension 255/55 and other improvements needed for the rally.

At the same time, the engine remained the same - a 4.8-liter V8 without turbocharging with a capacity of 385 hp. Porsche accelerates to a hundred kilometers per hour in 6.8 seconds, and the maximum speed, which is limited by the capabilities of off-road tires, is 190 kilometers per hour. In order to make the car as light as possible, the creators of the Cayenne Transsyberia donated a rear row of seats, soundproofing and some interior panels. A bright orange body kit and a number of additional headlights on the roof gave the SUV a truly rally look. The previous Trans-Siberian rally was held in 2006. About 50 crews took part in the race, including several Porsche Cayenne, which overcame more than 10 thousand kilometers. Porsche Team Dubai then finished first and second respectively in their first run. The main sponsors of the Porsche Team Dubai in the Trans-Siberian rally in 2007 were Polimar, the leading UAE supplier of spare parts for cars, and MAHA, a service group for the maintenance of cars of different classes.
