Dubai motorists were allowed to pay installment fines.
Dubai police have signed an agreement with the Dubai Islamic Bank, whereby bank credit card holders can pay off their travel fines by installments - for three, six, nine or twelve months without interest. The minimum payment is 500 dirhams ($ 136).
Hamid Salem Al Suwaydi, deputy director of the Dubai Police Department, has signed an agreement with Sanjay Malhotra, head of the retail banking department.
Al Suwaydi said the agreement aims to open new payment channels for motorists.
“This is an innovative service provided by the Dubai police to achieve our strategic goal of ensuring the satisfaction of members of the community through the Dubai police,” he said.
