Kombucha lovers in the UAE are trying to achieve the legal status of a drink

Lovers of Kombucha will try to convince the UAE authorities to lift the ban on its manufacture and use.

Fans of tea mushroom in the UAE are trying to achieve the legal status of a drink.

The ban on a drink in the UAE is due to the fact that, like any fermented food or drink, Kombucha may contain a small percentage of alcohol due to enzymes that result from the fermentation process.

American Ruth Alexander, who lives in the UAE, makes Kombucha, or kombucha, at home. The woman is very sensitive to production, she even maintains a special temperature in the room - at the level of 27 degrees Celsius.

Mrs. Alexander took a course in making kombucha and after only some six months she became a true master of her craft. Ruth is a member of the society of kombucha lovers, an extensive collection of enthusiasts who do not particularly hide what they are doing.

With her husband, Mrs. Alexander drink at least half a liter of this drink a day and can no longer imagine their life without it. Spouses note the great usefulness of the fungus, especially emphasizing its beneficial effect on the intestines.

In America, Kombucha can be purchased at many supermarkets for $ 7 per bottle. According to experts, the global sales market will triple by 2020.

However, in the UAE, the sale of Kombucha is prohibited by law. The thing is that Kombucha has alcohol, albeit in a minimal amount.

The opinions of Muslim theologians are also divided - some argue that there is nothing reprehensible in drinking a tea mushroom drink, since the proportion of alcohol in it is insignificant, while others still insist on maintaining the ban.

Asma Luta professes Islam, but despite this, she makes kombucha at her home in Dubai. A woman is so fascinated by the healing properties of the drink that she wants to sell it to other people in her Pilates studio. Luta intends to test kombuchi samples with the Dubai Administration. As a true patriot of her country, she does not want to sell mushrooms "from under the counter."

"This is my country and my responsibility, everything must be lawful."

Kombucha lovers in the UAE have a Facebook group with over 700 members. In the group, people share their experiences and recipes for making the drink, pass small mushrooms to beginners and hope that in the near future their healing potion will be allowed in the Emirates.
