Dubai will more actively attract tourists from Russia in 2018.

Dubai, UAE. In 2018, the Department of Tourism and Commercial Marketing of Dubai will direct more efforts to attract tourists from Russia and the CIS countries, said Issa Kazim, the agency’s executive director.

He recalled that the tourist flow from Russia grew by 212% in 2017 and amounted to 530 thousand people. Thus, Russia takes 8th place in the tourist ranking of Dubai. In total, last year Dubai was visited by 15.8 million international guests.

Just the other day, the tourist authorities of Dubai launched the Dubai Pass subscription, which will provide access to the main attractions of the emirate at a discount. The pass can be purchased by both tourists and residents.

Issa Kazim explained that this year the advertising campaign will focus on the hidden treasures of Dubai, which, in particular, include the new Al Marmoum nature reserve, which was chosen by lovers of wildlife, hiking and cycling.

The head of the tourism department explained that the majority of tourists, namely 73.8%, arrived in Dubai last year to rest and only 11.5% of the total - on business visits.
