Emirate team snatched victory in water-motor races in the USA

The Victory Team from the United Arab Emirates successfully performed at the World Motorboat Championship in the United States.

Dubai Victory Team made a successful debut at the 38th annual World Powerboat Championship in Key West, Florida this month.

For the first time in history, riders from the UAE Salem Al Adidi and John Tomlinson won prizes. The team’s second boat, with Ace Al-Ali and Steve Curtis on board, rolled over on Monday’s fourth lap. However, last Friday both boats led the athletes to victory.

According to the results of the Championship races, Victory 33 took third place with 812 points, losing to Team CRC and Wake Effects.

Khurais Bin Khurais, chairman of the Victory Team's board of directors, said after the race: “We did a good job for our first performance in North America, and I’m sure that we can achieve better results over time.”

He noted that initially there were many doubts about the success of the Victory Team in the United States, as the situation was not in favor of the team. The remaining boats had engines with a power of more than 2 thousand hp, while the Victory Team engine power was only 1.1 thousand hp.

“We still have a lot of work ahead to prove that we are the number one water-motor team in the world. And now we have a good start with third place in the overall standings in Key West,” he added.
