Art & Culture News

Dubai's art spaces are fully armed entering a new creative season. Fans of different genres will be where to turn around and what to visit.

Museum Night

Galleries of the Al Serkal Avenue quarter will open their doors to all lovers of contemporary art on September 15. Ayyam Gallery, Carbon 12, FN Designs, Green Art Gallery, Gray Noise, Mojo, Salsali Private Museum and others will take part in the Night of Museums event with fresh exhibits.

Tell me!

More than 50 drawings by contemporary Arab artists will be presented from September 15 to October 26 by the Green Art Gallery as part of the project "Works on Paper: Stories." The story of politics, culture and society is what talented people in the Middle East took in pencil. Everyone has their own story.

Gypsy madonnas

Young Uzbek author Alexander Barkovsky will show the famous series of lithographs at the Alif Art Gallery in Dubai. The author relates his collection to ethnoart: his heroines belong to the Central Asian gypsies (mugat, lyulya). Using a photo collage, the artist tried to create a fictional gypsy country against the background of ancient Bukhara and Samarkand. The works of the collection are closely related to the life and beliefs of the inhabitants of this country. The exhibition runs from September 22 to October 22.

Areal painting

The street art exhibition and graffiti competition is being held by the Street Art Dubai fashion gallery in partnership with the TribeFit fitness club (September 8, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.). The season of personal shows starts in the gallery itself on September 11: street art stars Bendy, Daniel, Jenny Peretz, Scott Marcy and others will present solo expositions.

Shadows of a woman

An exhibition with the same name will begin on September 17 at the Centro Barsha Art Hotel in Dubai. Syrian artist Manal Jamulki will demonstrate to the public a series of female portraits. The exhibition is open until October 16.

Gallery Fann-À-Porter Art (Kempinsky Mall of The Emirates Hotel) sells art masterpieces of Middle Eastern and Italian artists at affordable prices - from 500 to 5000 dirhams.
