EXITING THE MONOCHROME EQUILIBRIUM ZONE, DESIGNER ELI SAAB PRESENTED THE INCREDIBLY LUXURY SPRING-SUMMER HAUTE COUTURE COLLECTION.

The Danish artist of the XIX century, Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema, repeatedly captured scenes from the life of the Roman Empire on his canvases - among the blossoming spring, the characters of his paintings lean against marble statues, and in the background the waves of the Mediterranean Sea splash ...

During the Fashion Week in Paris, Lebanese couturier Eli Saab presented the Spring-Summer 2014 collection, inspired by the atmosphere of Alma-Tadema paintings. The designer began with pastel chords of pale pink, blue hydrangea and cold lily. The show was opened by models in fitted dresses of a classic cut with high waist and voluminous train.

The name Elie Saab, as a rule, is associated with the “brilliant” glamor of carpet paths, and this time there were some applications and elaborate handmade bead embroidery. Light lace dresses on the floor, like weightless cobwebs, encircled the figures of models. The key elements of the collection are bustier, deep V-necklines, asymmetry and pleated. Muslin's flowing silk ghazzar, openwork barge, tulle, satin and crunchy organza became Saab's main assistants in creating fantastic 3D effects.

The ombre visual effect, unusual for the aesthetics of the designer, looked spectacular on dresses with romantically puffy skirts with voluminous print. The flower parade was replaced by silk draped maxi in oriental style, with a vivid contrast achieved through a combination of violet, yellow, indigo and coral flowers, so beloved by Alma Tadema.

Saab offered an incredibly rich selection for "star" outlets, but this time gave the collection more modern forms. Several midi-length skirts looked fresh and extraordinary; lovers of experimenting with a formal dress code would definitely appreciate them. Also, square clutches decorated to match the dresses of the French Chantilly lace did not go unnoticed.

So the talented couturier drew the new season, again inviting into his world with camera flashes, gala dinners and glamorous evenings.
