At the Dubai International Airport, the queue for passport control will be reduced

Dubai International Airport is going to introduce a new information system that will reduce the queue at passport control. It will show the predicted volume of passenger traffic and will help terminal management to adjust staff during peak hours. A service for sending a boarding pass to a mobile phone is also provided. Thus, there will be no need to present it along the route to landing.

All the details of the new project were presented by Gilles Nilon, Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Development, Dubai Airports. “Passengers will see that the queue for passport control will decrease, and travel around the airport will take less time. The new technology is able to process more information than the terminal’s employees,” said Gilles Nilon. He also emphasized that traffic jams occur because the airport does not open all racks for passenger service. "This is not because people work poorly. Just managers often don’t know, for example, which plane will be delayed, or that several flights arrived at the same time, so they don’t open all the immigration service racks," the company representative said. He also noted that today all processes are regulated in a "manual" mode. "The new technology will allow you to manage information and control the flow of passengers, and those responsible for this process can be sure that as many racks are open as necessary," Gilles Nilon emphasized.
