On May 9, 2015, with the support and direct participation of the heads of diplomatic missions of the CIS countries in the UAE, the Russian Emirates Publishing House organized and held a gala evening on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Victory. In order to honor the memory of their great ancestors and pay tribute to the victorious people, gathered in a huge hall those whose grandfathers and fathers forged Victory together at the front and behind - Kazakhs and Uzbeks, Russians and Ukrainians, Kyrgyz and Azerbaijanis, Belarusians, Armenians , Tajiks, Turkmen. It is difficult to convey in words the spirit of unity when the hall freezes during the Minute of Silence, and the metronome, as it seems, repeats the sound of each of a thousand hearts.
On May 10, when the solemn fanfare had not yet ceased, and the guests were leaving home, I was already flying to Algeria, at the next Regional Conference of Russian compatriots in the Africa and the Middle East region, during which new representatives of the region in the World Coordinating Council were elected in the course of hard work . I can say with particular pride that a representative from the United Arab Emirates will again be on the VKS.
May ended for me with a trip to Moscow for a meeting of the World Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots, during which a traditional meeting of the VKS members with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov took place. And already in June a memorable and very important event took place for us - we took part in the work of the XVII World Congress of Russian Press, which this year was held in Moscow. Our journalists have been working on the sidelines of this grandiose media forum for several years, but this year has become a landmark for us - on June 11, 2015 I received from the hands of Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, a Certificate of Honor awarded by the Government to the Russian Emirates Publishing House for his great contribution to the preservation of the Russian language and culture, as well as to the consolidation of compatriots abroad. So, taking this opportunity, I say thanks again to those thanks to whom we were noticed and appreciated - to my dear employees, partners, readers and friends of our magazine, fellow journalists. And, of course, individual words of gratitude to those who in different years tried to become our competitors - without them, the Russian Emirates would have been different.
My business season ended on the banks of the Neva - thanks to friends and partners from the MaximiliaN-London Jewelry House and personally to Maxim Artsinovich, I received an invitation from Mikhail Piotrovsky, director of the State Hermitage, to the annual charity Gala Reception at the Winter Palace.
